Small part, big consequences

A bad closer wastes conditioned air every hour you're open, slams on customers and kids, and slowly beats the door and frame to death. A misaligned latch means the door looks shut and isn't, which is a security problem disguised as an annoyance. An entrance with no operator quietly turns away anyone using a walker or a wheelchair.

All three are inexpensive next to what they cost you, and adjustment alone fixes more of them than most people expect. We look at the whole opening, not just the part that squeaks.

Accessibility and code

If you're renovating, changing use, or have had an inspector flag an opening, the hardware is usually where the issue lands: opening force, lever versus knob, closing speed, panic hardware on the right doors. Bring us the report or the plan and we'll tell you what the opening actually needs.

We install push-button automatic operators, including the plates, the wiring coordination, and tying the operator into your lock or access control.

Common questions about door hardware

Our door slams hard. Do we need a new closer?

Maybe not. Closers have adjustment valves for swing speed and latch action, and a good share of slamming doors just need adjustment. We adjust first and replace when the closer is genuinely worn out or leaking.

Do you install ADA push-button door openers?

Yes, automatic operators for accessible entrances are regular work for us, including push plates, wiring coordination, and integration with your locks.

Our door won't latch unless you pull it. Why?

Almost always alignment: the door has settled or the frame has shifted, so the latch no longer meets the strike squarely. Usually a quick fix, occasionally a hinge or frame issue.

Can you match hardware in an older building?

Often, and when an exact match is discontinued we can usually find hardware that fits the door preps you already have, which saves both the door and the budget.

Can you fix a door that's dragging on the floor?

Yes. That's typically hinges or a sagging frame, and it's worth fixing early because a dragging door tears up the threshold and eventually the door itself.
